Day 8 - La Playa
Hello, my name is Keenen Coe, and I have the privilege of telling the story of beach day. We had an early morning as the drive to the beach was about 2 hours, so most people fell asleep on the bus ride. For the few that didn't fall asleep, the scenery was beautiful as trees filled the empty canvas of the mountains in the distance.
Once we got to the resort, we saw how vast the Pacific Ocean is, with the coastline of Costa Rica fading out of view. The water was warm, and rocks and coral were washed ashore in some areas. The beach was ongoing, and a group went to the other side to see the waves in different locations. The waves of the Pacific are no joke, and you don't want any of that, as they ended up stealing multiple pairs of sunglasses and almost claiming a few hats. I fell victim to the monstrous waves that came my way as they claimed my sunglasses and swept them away. But I didn't let that get me down for too long as I could enjoy the beauty of God's vast creation and take in the view.
On the other side of the beach, Mr. Todd was building a sandcastle that turned out beautifully with some assistance from other team members. Others enjoyed the hot pool water and didn't have to deal with sand in their shoes.
Overall, beach day was a fun, restful experience with fantastic food and waves that were ready to claim their next victim. We are grateful for the opportunity to minister and to rest on this trip. Thank you for praying for us.
Please continue to pray that we will honor God in all our words and deeds as we turn our attention toward coming home.
